Avmed consists of a network of 21,000 physicians, specialists and hospitals located in every major metropolitan area of the state. They Specialize in customer satisfaction with a 24/7 hotline manned with a nurse to answer questions concerning health from Avmed customers.
Cost is contained by visiting participating Avmed providers who are part of the network. Avmed is a big supporter of Protective Care. They do not make these services a part of the network calendar year deductable and therefore the following screenings are encouraged as a means to keep customers healthy and avoid future problems. These screenings include: annual physicals, immunization shots, Pap tests and PSA tests. These screenings go along with the basis for the Avmed philosophy which promotes preventive medicine.
